Anyway now to read cogdemos source code?

I see, you just need to be in stage page when adding /scenes/choicescript_stats.txt this way it will load and you should be able to use startup.txt in most of the game.
Sorry Dan but I can also confirm this method no longer works. I've cleared the browser cache and attempted to goto startup.txt and choicescript_stats.txt on their respective stage pages and they both ended in Error 403.

I attempted this on the Patreon KaE Demo

that's weird, it works for me.

The /mygame/scenes/startup.txt doesn't work for my chrome even if I am at the startup, I also got a "403-Scene files are not allowed to be viewed." warning, probably chrome is different...

However one way to read the txt file for chrome is to use Ctrl + Shift + C to open up the developer console, go to Network, and search for "txt" there and the txt will pop up if you load it once. Just click the txt you want to read and click preview, otherwise it's still a 403 error...

Unfortunately 😭
Kiwi Browser works the same way, just to make sure that you are using the developer version. You will need to click the three dots on the top right corner, go to developer tools, go to network, then return to the page you want to analyze, click refresh, going back to the developer tool page and then all the things being loaded will show up, search for "txt", and finally click preview.

Unfortunately COGDEMOS was blocked by my ISP content filter as so I can only use oneknightstand for demonstration, but it works the same way.

PS: download the kiwi browser with dev options on Github here
PSS: for IOS i guess you will need to download a webinspector app for checking the web using the same idea, but I haven't tried it
