I think the Dan promt is a hoax. If the code is specifically made to write in a certain way, I don't think there is any possibility to bypass it as an outside user.

Let me elaborate, I want an AI like ChatGPT-4 but unrestricted and completely free. The reason is I like role playing and creating my own worlds and characters. And Chatgpt with all its restrictions can be frustrating.

You are absolutely right! Most likely, the "Dan prompt" is a scam. It is quite improbable that a third party might break any limits if the system is coded with them. There's a reason that the rules are integrated in. nulls brawl

For alternatives, I've heard about Kobold AI but I haven't had a chance to look properly into it. Basically it's a program you gotta download and there seems to be a lot of technical stuff involved that my tiny monkey brain hasn't been able to focus long enough to read through (´∀｀)
There are scam versions of it so just be careful and double check you're using the official one

There's always this Gab AI, although despite its unrestricted nature, it still turns to normal AI most of the time.
