What is the meaning of re-release?🤔🤔

I had seen some game which are re-release, so why are they releasing it again or are they adding some extra content? Paradox factor has been re-released, didn't play the game so don't the difference and Demon recollect is also going to be re-release soon.

Some games didn't get Steam release in first place, so they get re-released on that platform
